the recovery rate is greater. New cars tend to get recovered, old cars are more likely to disappear.

Recovery rates are better when the thieves cooperate by leaving something to recover. If lojack is primarily installed in new cars, those newer lojack cars will have better recovery rate than that of all stolen cars in a given geographic area.

This just explains why the stats show a better recovery rate for lojack-equipped cars....it's better for all new cars.

Do whatever YOU want to. You have to make yourself happy with YOUR purchase. This was just a forum discussion.

We can all agree that if the lojack receiver is turned 'off' in the police car, it will not alert anyone of a nearby stolen car, right?

I didn't buy my S4 for someone else to drive, when they want to. I won't buy a stolen vehicle recovery device that relies on someone else activating a receiver, considering the points discussed in other posts here.

With everything discussed here, we've only talked about recovering it after it's stolen. How about a proactive anti-theft device?
