Default Quick question about cd changer plug...

Any one have access to a wire diagram to make a 13pin din conector with two female rca cables on the other end? The reason being is i want to plug the 13pin conector into the cd changer plug in my 01 S4 trunk. Then with the other end(rca plugs) hook up a mp3 player. Just like the tech article but i want to make a junction conector myself any input??
thanks

Default Try Logjam electronics.com and don't waste

your time trying to figure it out. Matching the pins is only half the problem. You need to convince the HU that it should "listen" to the cdc plug for a signal. Find the AUD1 IIRC and that will give you CDC cable to RCAs with the disc 1 of the changer signal. It is how I use sat radio in the CDC input. Works great. however, YMMV. You may need to be a signal attenuator (i did) to get the rca's to have the same volume on each input due to voltage differences.

Default Blitzsafe over rated as much as overpriced

BlitzSafe "neglects" to tell you that almost all the adapters they sell do not take power (switched, unswitched, and ground) from the 13 pin CD changer plug even though it is there. Only the Pioneer adapter does. This means even though you specify what brand XM reciever you are trying to hook up, all you really get is a generic adapter with a couple of RCA jacks. When I complained to Blitzsafe they said the "RCA jacks are matched to your specific unit" BS.

This is a real pain. The picture on their site is of the Pioneer adapter, so the whole thing feels like a con job. How honest is it to show an adapter with power connections and then ship almost all of them without?

So.... I also would really like to know if anyone has already traced out the cable so I can cut into it and do the job Blitzsafe should have. $70 bucks for a couple of RCA jacks is a real rip-off.

If not, where is the best place to grab switched and unswitched power in the trunl of my 00 A6?
