Default Quick question.... advice appreciated

for the past few months my car has had a boost leak problem. Finally yesterday after pressure testing the car at my dealer, the tech calls me to tell me that the "Banjo" bolt ( don't quote me on the name, that's what he said), the bolt that holds the air/vacuum line to the turbo is missing. It apparently is a bolt with 2 washers with holes in it for the air to pass through.

Anyone heard of such a thing before?

how hard is it to get to the bolt?

Is there a possibility that the turbo has already suffered considerable damage because of this missing bolt?

thanks for the advice..

Default That's got to be bad. With out that line your turbo would over spin like crazy.

I'm not even sure if its reachable to install a new banjo bolt unless you pull the motor. A pressure test would have located that leak in no time since its coming from the compressor side.

Default

It is the inlet tube connection to turbo. Thanks for links though.
