Default quick shifts

Has anyone when accelerating hard from 1 to 2nd get a grind going into second? Ive been trying different methods of getting a clean shift but if I am really getting into it it will grind going into seconds and sometimes miss the shift so I'll double shift. TIA

Either you can't shift or you have synchro issues.

This gearbox just doesn't like to be shifted quickly.

I'd say synchro because even under a soft shift it feels wierd going into 2nd. Plus it has never happened with any other car I've driven so I'm pretty sure after 15 yrs. of shifting I have it down pretty well, but thanks anyway. I was more wondering if anyone had 2nd gear sychro problems.

I had the same problem with only about 5000mi on my car. The dealer said that they had replaced a large amount of s4 transmissions with the same problem. They ended up replacing the transmission. I would suggest getting it in to your dealer, because on my car it only got worse

We have had big problems with th 01E 6 speed almost always with the 1-2 shift hub and syncros, I personally have rebuilt at least a half dozen. Good luck make sure wherever you bring it they have someone trained to repair it.
