Default Quick update on cockpit-controlled headlight adjustment

I had hoped that I could tweak the voltage to the headlight servomotors in the goal of having cockpit-adjustable aim height (relative to auto-adjust aim height).

No way...the Audi controller shuts down and sends a signal to the motor servo to shut down itself during all but startup. No continuous feedback.

I have other plans, of course

Default It will also readjust when at a stop IIRC

Perhaps you could interrupt the lights on signal to controller so it thinks the lights were power cycled.

Or find the euro parts

Default how do the headlights know where the zero position is?

seems to me that is what you would want the manual leveler to adjust. that way the autoleveler would function normally from a new zero position.

unfortunately, i think the zero position is calculated IN the ECU. so perhaps you need to fake the ECU signal while suppling the autolever with the new voltage.

i could be totally wrong.

Default Yes, it re-aims sometimes at unexpected times

The logic baffles me, but I know speed is an input.

I have a pot with a "click off" function at the negative setting (like an old radio).

I can wire it up so that when off, it will resort to the autolevel program. When activated, the headlights will be in full manual mode. I like the idea of being able to blind left-lane road-hogs upon my command :-)

you can fake the position sensor, but update is up to the controller.

Note in the above post: choice between auto vs. manual
