Default Quote from BMW website regarding the new M3...

This quote below (next paragraph) tears me up...I guess they can say that I rocket out of the turn in a $40,100 chipped S4 and the M3 gets to play catch up down the straight-away each time -- that must be a great feeling...M3 driver: "Now watch as this S4 leaves me like we're sitting still...(seconds pass and the gap widens)...ok, now we're going to go catch up to him...see we've just about caught him and we're braking for the next corner and...(repeat this again)"

Torque is Cheap.
No turbo, no supercharger, just engineering excellence, M-style - that's what lies at the heart of the M3's appeal. With an unbridled appetite for revs instead of a short-lived shove of torque, the new M3's normally aspirated straight six is a real enthusiast's delight.

My fake ID/PW are coolyjoe/boost for the BMW site if anyone wants to use them (can you believe you have to register to view their information?)

Default The new M3...

Something tells me that the new M3 is quite the monster they claim it to be. I've driven the Euro-spec M3, and I can tell you, they are wonderful cars. If I see one on the road, I will not be enticing it to "play."

Anyway, the M3 is probably the MOST proven car of its kind anywhere in the world. All you have to do is take a look at the M3's record on the race track. All cars of our size strive to be the car that Motosport has created.

That being said - I still love my S4!

Default Ignorant guys. Maybe they don't know much about M History..

M1? Still the most exotic M car? It's turbocharged (not all) b/c it was originally designed to compete in different classes of races. This is where the M started. If not for it's success, they wouldn't be touting much about anything other than a regular 328 CSi. These are the all too many goons that get into these very nice cars. It's pretty sad.

Plus, the M engineering isn't a better feat than the Honda S2000 1.8L four pot putting out 240 hp. Hp/liter, the S2000 wins in the natural aspirated world. 133hp/L vs. 100hp/L. I'm sure if you tell them that, then they'll make fun of the S2000 just b/c it's a Honda.

I don't discount the M's credibility, technology and engineering - just the ignorant ones that drive them.
