It is entirely possible that the dealers don't know about the problems associated with the aux WP ..
Todays technicians are trained on todays cars i.e. the B7, and somehow seem to quickly lose any B5 knowledge. This is why it is sometimes better to go to a specialist if your car is out of warranty. This is just my opinion and I appreciate that some dealers are better than others
