The code should be in you owners manual or call the dealer where the car was bought and give him your vin number.

Headunit and VIN are not associated(at least in the US). Need the 12 or 13 pin SN off the headunit

so the dealer can get/calculate the lock code.

This is correct, enter the serial # of the radio and *any valid VIN* and you get the radio code.
