Random/Multiple Misfire (P0300)

Random/Multiple Misfire (P0300)
I've searched the forums and I've addressed most of the issues I've found. I just replaced all of the coils (before which I as getting Misfire Cylinder 1 and Misfire Cylinder 4)... After replacing all the coils, I'm getting "Random Multiple Misfire" code, I don't have access to a VAG because I'm in ****ing "nowhereville, GA" and I'm thinking it could be the ignition amps... any thoughts?
If I knew that a specific cylinder was misfiring, I could swap the amps and see if the misfire followed, but since it's the generic "Random/Multiple" I don't know where to go from here...
I have 107k, new plugs (as of 3000 miles ago), new coils as of an hour ago and as soon as I went for the test drive, it was humming along perfectly... I dropped the hammer on it and it started to stumble and then the "check engine" light flashed. Then it goes out... I mash the gas... it flashes... but for the most part, it turns off when I'm not driving it hard.
I'm kind of at a loss...
Anyone who might be able to troubleshoot this over the internet with just some thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I had this same thing happen to me about 2 weeks ago....
Looks like you went the right route.
Switch your plugs around would be a cheap route.
To see if the misfires change positions.
Mine was fairly easy. ****ty plugs.
Mine was cylinder 1 and 4 as well.

I think that the 1 and 4 were old codes...
now I'm only getting "Random / Multiple"... I was thinking amps, fuel relay or maybe even MAF... but because the only thing coming up is the P0300... I can't get a good idea of the problem.
If I knew which cylinder it was, I'd know how to test it out, but it's "random / multiple" now and I've cleared and re-checked 3 times... only 1 code, P0300...
So it leads me to believe that it's not the coil, the plug, the injector or the cables... because if it was, I'd get a specific cylinder to troubleshoot... so I'm thinking it's something further back beyond the cables... between the ECU and the cables to the coils..
any *new* thoughts?

OEM coils and OEM plugs....
coils brand new today and plugs about 3,000 mi old.
(but again, I'm not getting a specific cylinder... maybe the timing has been thrown off? just throwing that out there)

new thought, I had the timing belt service done about 3,000 miles ago...
could the timing having something to do with this? The only reason I didn't think of this initally is because when I got it back it was humming right along... but is it possible that I could have slipped a tooth and that could be causing the P0300?
