Re-Post: Intermittent climate control fan functionality - anyone have this problem?
I've recently noticed that my climate control fan has been acting up. When I get into the car and start it, it will come on to any level I set it. But, after I've been driving it for an unspecified amount of time/miles, it will no longer push any air through the vents, yet the indicator shows the fan is operating at the incremental output levels. The Re-circ and the Auto buttons are typically never used and I usualy have the temperature setting on 69 - 71 at one or two clicks on the fan strength for whatever it is worth.
I've tried altering the temperature settings all through the range of hot to cold as well as closed off the passenger and center vents to better focus the air on the driver. No remedy from either of these attempts.
It is odd that it works and doesn't work. I've heard that you have to remove the dashboard to replace the flat fans and this is a 10 hour job - $ 1,500 or thereabouts. My mechanic checked for any codes, but nothing came up.
Please help me to diagnose/fix the problem and keep that money in my Stage 3 fund. Going without the climate control functionality is not an option here this summer. Thanks.

I don't have your problem but mine seems to have a mind of its own...
It'll either set itself to blow really hard, then slow down, speed up.. I don't know what the criteria is for what its doing. And no, its not set to Auto mode.

I just had my blower fan replaced, as it was doing just as you described.
Red bars indicating fan strength would cycle up and down, with no fan blowing whatsoever. My mechanic put in a new fan, a tad bit of labor, voila, problem solved. Definately not a $1,500 job. Good luck!

Turned out the problem was a poorly seated power connector. Take off the glove compartment and make sure the beige plug plugging in to the blower body is properly seated. My HVAC was throwing codes though
