Default Rear diff whine? anyway to fix? after rear diff mount upgrade

dont know what happened to my other post.

I recently installed a Apikol rear diff mount and now i hear the rear diff making a whining noise when i have a load on the car.

I searched and saw that there were a few others also with this same problem.

Does anyone have a solution?

Is my rear diff going bad?

should i change the fluid again?

thanks!

Default I had it with the ASP mount. Sold that and put the stern diff ring on

with a newer stock diff mount and the noise went away. Not as solid, but the clunking and diff whine are gone. I think the more solid mounts emphasize the demons that exist in your drivetrain (carrier bearing, propshaft CVs, etc.) since there's less to absorb any play.

...but what the hell do I know...I'm no engineer...

Good luck.

Default normal. i got the same thing w/ asp street mount. i just got used to it. audi really isolates

driveline noise with all of their "rubber between the joints" feeling mounts and this lends to the refined nature of our cars. upgrade any mounts away from their soft, sometimes liquid filled mounts and you lose that (along with DL slop).

though alrming at first, the diff noise, imho, is worth it for the added stiffness.

Default you may have a rear wheel bearing that is starting to go bad, the sound will be amped with the

new rear diff mount, that is what happened to mine, they i figured out my left rear was failing out. My ASP diff mount is teh street one and it works nice,

Default Didn't you replace your rear diff too?

Had you replaced motor/tranny/snub mounts?
