Rear Upper Rear control arm problem

I've had a knocking in the rear of my suspension for the last months and I finally got around to dismantling the rear suspension.
I had the upper control arm out and notice the rubber bushing was loose ( the bushing on the inner side of the CA that connects to the shock mount). After moving it around it just fell right out of the metal housing. Now I have two questions:
1)I assume this is the source of the knocking. Is that correct?
2)If this is the problem, can I just replace the bushing, or do I have to replace the entire control arm?
TIA!!!
