Recommand what mods to be done if I want to chip
I heard from a friend that in order to chip my S4 i need to change the intercoolent, exhaust, etc, etc... how true is that?

Nope, nothing must be done to chip.
What is intercoolent anyways? Some peeps will change out throttle boots and bypass valves, but it's definitely not necessary unless you plan to track the car.

Here's some recommendations...
For TBB fix you can do 2 things:
1. Spend 50-70 bucks for Samco TBB, its a good fix should eliminate all problems with that part or
2. Spend 350 for APR Bipipe. Its a guaranteed fix but very pricey
My opinion go Samco.
For BPVs you have even more options:
1. Forge or Bailey valves...Both excellent valves that will take care of problems from what I hear...Pricey though at over 300 for a pair.
2. TT Bypass valves...Many testimonials to how they work well. Not full aluminum assembly like bailey or forge. From what I hear they have better inner spring then stock S4 ones. Not too expensive...At least half the price of bailey/forge.
3. Evolution Motorsports upgraded bypass valves. Similar concept to TT ones. Upgraded inner spring to keep boost better then stock. They run approximately 160 a pair.
My opinion can't go wrong with any, go based on you budget.
Hope this helps.

I'll add my $0.02...
Go with the Bailey valves over the Forge
Cost is the same - the Bailey valves do not need servicing. The Forge valves can be dissambled and cleaned and I have "heard" reports of them sticking. For $300 for 2 simple valves - I don't want to even consider cleaning mine.
Also, you don't "need" either of these. They do not add any power. These are just parts that are put under stress with more pressure from the turbos. The best mod to do with a chip is a cat-back exhaust (although expensive for the S4). You will notice the power gains.

You don't *need* to do any but.......
the engine is already too powerful for the suspension. Chipping will upset this balance further. Also, you can extract more benefit from the chip by changing the downpipes, exhaust, etc. but one certainly does not *have* to do this. My recommendation is upgrade the suspension first, then do the chip as your next mod.
