Default You have good bite with these?

I just replaced my front rotors and put these pads on and the pedal is much softer. I think I probably need to bleed the brakes. Haven't done that yet. But there is a noticeable difference in my pedal from the pagid blues I had.

Default I've heard good things about Porterfields

but have no experience with them or know how they relate to the Hawk's range of street/track pads.

I notice when I teach on Calif. tracks that most of the students and instructors use them and not Hawk, Ferodo, EBC, Perf. Frict. or any other but I don't know what compound they're using at any given time.

Default They dust like CRAZY though. And they're plenty gooey when they get hot.

These are definitely NOT track worthy, the pads chunked a bit with hard street use and deposited a "sticky goo" in my rotor slots. Should be fine for rear use on the track though.

Seems like a nice street compound though. I'm still amazed at the amount of dust they produce.

Default Pagid RS4-2-1 Black ... Pagid RS4-2 Blue ... Ferodo DS2500

My 0-10 rating from street to full race.

OEM:
...... Rating = 0
...... Coefficient of friction probably 0.35-0.40

Pagid RS4-2-1 Black:
...... Rating = 2
...... cf = 0.45
...... Excellent high performance street pad

Pagid RS4-2 Blue:
...... Rating = 3
...... cf = 0.48
...... Excellent high performance street pad, may squeal slightly

Ferodo DS2500:
...... Rating = 5
...... cf = 0.50
...... This is the closest thing I've personally seen to a dual use pad, excellent on the street but also light duty track. Expect this pad to squeal occasionally.

I've used all of these, will never again use OEM pads, am currently using and satisfied with the Pagid RS4-2-1, but prefer the Ferodo DS2500. All have good friction when ice cold, usually lacking with full race pads. Also, be sure to use these pads both front and rear for best performance. Click these Pagid or Ferodo links for additional information.
