Regarding Transmission: Only clunk's/shakes when shifting into D is this saying....

my torque converter is fried or my transmission. While in D, the car shifts fine both in auto and tip mode. If it was the torque converter wouldn't clunk/shake when I shift into R N D etc.....TIA
Also, this triggered my CEL so I'm guessing it is the torque converter

The TC failure is not a clunk related thing. It is a highway efficiency thing related to the lock up clutch not locking due to a seal leak.
