Yesterday the "unlock" function on my remote key fob stopped working. It will still lock the car fine, so I've ruled out (I think) a low battery problem--the car's only 7 months old anyway. My wife's key still unlocks the car, so I don't think it has to do with the receiver/antenna, or the locking system in the car.

Any ideas what this might be, and/or how I might fix it, short of bringing it to the dealer?

It could be that you accidently pinched the unlock and lock key when you are away from the car. I think it's the rolling code -- every time you press it the code is changed. If you pinch the unlock button enough times away from the car, it will not sync with the car anymore. Just use the key to unlock the car and everything will be in sync again.

It happens with my Porsche and Lexus too.
