replacement diverter valves - any suggestions - another set of 710N or other options?

I replaced my stock diverter valves about 24000 miles ago with the 710 N valves. One of the replacement valves sounds like it has given up. I have been hearing a load air pressure whoosh when slowing after accelerating onto a freeway on ramp and then having to slow down.
What mileage is to be expected from a pair of 710N DVs?
I am considering one of the other manufactures such as Forged or Bailey, which should last forever with regular maintenance. Do these or other manufacture DVs provide any additional advantage? I have read through the older posts and not found a lot of specifics.
I would buy another set of 710Ns but not if I have to keep replacing them every 25K miles.
Thanks

I was just in your situation and I decided, f- it this is my chance, and I bought brand new Forge 007Ps.
The 710Ns just aren't right for my kind of driving. They just don't shut as quickly as I think they should so I always feel like I'm waiting when I go WOT at a lower RPM. Of course there's no perceptible difference at >3000 rpm, but for daily driving...
Plus at $50 a pop for the 710Ns the difference in cost is minimal when you consider that you'll eventually have to replace them if you plan to keep the car long enough.

i switched from bailey's on feb 2005 because at the time 710Ns were < $20 each. i bought the second set in jul 2006 at $32 each because both were broken.
i bought a 3rd set in mar 2008 at $39 each, although the previous has no leaks still.
that's nearly $180 once the 2nd set breaks. maybe the cold seasons in new england have something to do with it.
spend $30 at sears and get yourself a vaccuum pump with a gauge. you can easily test them at 20 inHg and see if they hold over time. this would show smaller tears. you can also create vaccuum by sucking with your mouth.
