RePOLL: Alcantara Seats - How are they holding up? Would you get them again? Nogaro or Silver?

The first summer I had the car, it got so hot one day that my Fast Lane pass fell off the windshield and landed glue-side down on the driver's seat. I tried all kinds of things from ice to rubbing alcohol to get the glue off, but no luck. So there is a small stain there. Otherwise, the rest of the car still looks brand new, perhaps even better than the black leather.

I had some sap on one seat and it wiped off using mild soap and warm water.
I have gotten the fuzzies and to get them off just go and buy a clothing shaver or similar fuzz remover. They are around $5 from most home stores.

Cleaning/Conditioning the surrounding leather is a real pita because you have to be careful not to rub on the ultrasuede.
This keeps me from detailing the interior as often as I do with leather. Leather is much easier to take care of IMHO.
But the seats look like new and always get comments...usually compliments...but always some opinion. ;-)

Getting a little leather conditioner on the edges doesn't seem to have affected it at all. I just wipe the Alcantara down with a damp cloth after conditioning the leather.

No, not the whole seat. Just one strip againts
the edge where the leather and the alcantara
meet. Then clean to your hearts content.
Doesn't take too long and saves time cleaning
the alcantara. I have 40,000+ and my seats still
look brand new.
I use Zymol leather cleaner and conditioner.

it sticks to alcantara REALLY well! I can't explain it. I use this stuff all over the exterior when detailing my car, and love it, because it doesn't leave any residue behind, and it's not very tacky. Well, I sent the S into the dealer with a seat heater problem, and I tacked little pieces of tape on the seat where I noted hot spots or no heat (to make life easy for the tech). When I got the car back, it felt like someone glued that tape to the seats. I pulled the tape back, and removed some alcantara fur with it. :-( So...if you're going to use 3M Blue Low Adhesive Masking Tape...don't leave it on there too long!
