Default I experienced the same thing, so...
I'd purposely take a strip of tape and apply
it on my shirt or pant and peel it off several
times to collect dust/stuff to lessen the
adhesive.

Give it a try =)

Squeegee or sheet of plastic to hold in crease next to leather while rubbing!

Mylar tape would be the best thing for this situation... (if you can find it).
