Default I just hate being lied to, thats all (more)

I would call one day after 3 weeks of waiting and be told my center vent boost guage is ready and would be shipping tomorrow .. call a few days later after I get no confirmation, and it hasnt shipped yet because your waiting on supplies to create one that wont be in for two weeks.. how did you expect to have it out the day after I phoned the first time if the parts were not even available? I'm not blaming you Todd and I'm not blaming AWE as a whole, I'm sure its just a miscommunication to whoever answers the phone but I just wish they would find out instead of tell me something to get me off the phone. I would've understood the first time if I was just told the truth but when I get told one thing one day and something completely different the following day, I get slightly aggravated.

Its water under the bridge and its no big deal, guage arrived and I've had it in ever since and love it so no hard feelings

Default This industry is tough.

We have a pretty good information system here in the office, so it is rare when miscommunication happens internally. Often in cases like you described it's because customs has unexpectedly delayed an incoming package, or a subcontractor has broken a delivery promise, or a batch of product just arrived damaged, etc.

We always strive to underpromise and over deliver here, but even the best laid plans sometimes go screwy. One of the tactics we have taken is to bring more and more of the manufacturing process in house, but even then we are at the mercy of raw material suppliers.

However, if we artificially quote double or triple what we actually believe the wait to be, we also run the risk of losing sales because people do not want to wait that long, so it is a fine line to walk.

"Lie" is a harsh word.
