NO NO NO, the clamp was forged from the Kennedy bullet!.

I'll happily explain it for the friends of the bonehead that caused it
You want to know what happened? and why? here it is.
<b>1)</b> A mediocre and tired mechanic drops a clamp in the intake track (just before y-pipe) after 3 failed attempts at installing the MBC correctly. During the installation of the MBC, he had removed the <a href="http://www.isaacsrelocation.com/smokin_s4/-/TurboatSRS/images/schrapnel4%20in%20MAF.jpg">MAF/tube</a>
Another interesting note is that the installer also dropped at least 3 clamps during installation, and I only saw him recover one. YES, I was there for all of this...as the regular tech (Dan) didn't do the MBC install correctly in the first place.
<b>2)</b> clamp gets stuck somewhere after the MAF (as there's a <a href="http://www.isaacsrelocation.com/smokin_s4/-/TurboatSRS/pages/schrapnel4%20in%20MAF.htm">screen</a> in the MAF)
<b>3)</b> clamp released as I was heading uphill ~45minutes into travel. I guess it got stuck in the intake tube <a href="http://www.isaacsrelocation.com/smokin_s4/-/TurboatSRS/images/intake%20piping1.jpg">here</a> since it's not an open tube and is sectioned off.
<b>4)</b> When the <a href="http://www.isaacsrelocation.com/smokin_s4/-/TurboatSRS/pages/Cheap%20Clamp%20Made%20in%20Mexico2.htm">clamp <img src="http://www.isaacsrelocation.com/smokin_s4/-/TurboatSRS/thumbnails/Cheap%20Clamp%20Made%20in%20Mexico2.jpg"></a> hit the <a href="http://www.isaacsrelocation.com/smokin_s4/-/TurboatSRS/images/non-healthy%20k04.jpg">hot-side of the turbo running at 50-100k RPMs,</a> there was a huge exposition - this was the primary FOD
<b>5)</b> That <a href="http://www.isaacsrelocation.com/smokin_s4/-/TurboatSRS/pages/intake%20piping1.htm">explosion</a> sends schrapnel in 2 directions -> back towards the <a href="http://www.isaacsrelocation.com/smokin_s4/-/TurboatSRS/pages/schrapnel4%20in%20MAF.htm">intake</a> and downstream to thru the intercoolers and on to the intake manifold.
<b>6a)</b> The schrapnel was sent up to <a href="http://www.isaacsrelocation.com/smokin_s4/-/TurboatSRS/pages/schrapnel4%20in%20MAF.htm">maf</a> gets regurgetated and causes <b>secondary FOD</b> to the other turbo.
<b>6b)</b> primary FOD-schrapnel is sent thru IC as metal-sand/dust,thru t-body,
into intake mani, is super-heated, melted, and welded to the exhaust valves on exit. Also note that there was such a small ammount of metal particles that made it past the exhaust valves, that there weren't any visible particles in the precats.
<b>7)</b> A split-second after the explosion, and after the scrapnel was sent into the intake, the turbo oil seals fail and FLOOD oil into ICs and DPs. 3 quarts of oil were found in the passenger side IC.
<b>8)</b> Finally the car is shut down - elapsed time - 15-30 seconds from FOD to shutdown.
As for your theory (and the incompentant installer) about me putting the clamp in there....
Let's take a look at what seems to make sense:
1) It was ~11-11:30PM on a thursay night when it happened.
2) I was left stranded an hour and a half from home.
3) Both myself and my wife needed to work the next day.
4) I had to wake my wife to meet me at 3AM to pick me up from the dealer (where Audi Roadside dropped off the car) - she had to drag my poor son out of sleep as well
5) I have paid for all repairs, despite <a href="http://www.isaacsrelocation.com/smokin_s4/Ricks%20message.mp3">promises</a> from the previous installer to submit it to his insurnance
6) I only requested for him to pay R&R on the exhaust valves....that was before I found out that the turbos were probably healthy before the FOD
If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck. I guess that you, Rick, and Mark can theorize all you want as to what happened, but I do know the truth.
I don't blame you (entirely) for believing Rick. You believe he's sincere, I know he's a compulsive liar....I'd probably beleive my friend too...but look at the facts, and Ricks (in)ability to answer any questions about the incident...or anything else he's said on here.
Your ASSumptions of me doing any damage on purpose is probably as idiotic as me saying that you cut your oil lines on Chad on purpose, since you weren't going to win the S4 Challenge anyway. (which I'm not saying, it was just a ridiculous example).
