Default Repost: FK spring rates, and I need advice.

Well, the spring rates for the FK Konigsport coilovers were posted over the weekend. I thought I'd repost them for the weekday crowd. I ordered this suspension not knowing the spring rates, I went by the advice from achtuning. Basically they said that this kit is better than H&R. Now looking at these spring rates is making me nervous. Please take a look at them. What do you think, should I cancel my order and go with H&R coilovers? How could this system be better than H&R with those spring rates, or am I missing something here? Please tell me, because I don't know a whole lot about this.

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1172898.phtml</a

I'm in the same boat. I can't understand why the rear spring rate is lower than the stock spring.

Default Maybe they are still on the learning curve of what B5 enthusiasts are looking for?

Stock springs have front stiffer than rear. Early aftermarket sets followed similarly. It's probably Corey and Sharon's fault among with a few early performance and track oriented folks (~ 98 on) that other companies started to offer alternatives after seeing what was being mixed and matched, I would have to say primarily by Vortrag with HyperCo. My guess.

Default According to Josh and others that sell FKs, you are going to be able to pick spring rates front and

back. Well, maybe not pick but they will offer different rates.

SpeedTech Sport says they can order them this way now. I will be purchasing in about 2 months and hopefully the details will be finalized by then so I don't have to spend over 2g's on c/o.

Default Put it this way

ACH themselves said they were going to end up going with a higher rate (custom order) from FK directly(who knows how long thats going to take!). To me that signifies that the available rate is definitely unacceptable. I was on the fence for ordering the FK's and this definitely made me decide not to. I'm looking at H&R Street/Ultra now. I say go for H&R's

Default Okay that's fine and dandy new spring rates, but are the shocks setup for that rate?

If they are setup for the weaksauce configuration then the shocks are no way matched to the springs.

Default I thought they were adjustable, maybe not enough though?

Wouldn't want the car to do this:

Default the shock is adjustable...I still agree with Milpitas though

I want something that's designed to work in conjunction with the attached spring.

I'm impressed with Achtuning for posting the results.
