Based on dry performance, 500+ miles minimum:
In no particular order.
Top of the List:
Falken GRB FK-451: best bang for the buck, great performance
Toyo T1-S: great all around but get loud after 15,000 miles
Bridgestone S-03: wear fast
Bridgestone S-02s: will wear out in 10,000 miles but probably the best dry performing tire I've ever tried.
Michelin Pilot Sports: $$$ but very refined and great performance
Michelin MXX3s: discontinued? Standard on the E39 M5, sticks like glue, wears fast.
Good:
Sumitomo HTR-ZIIs: great bang for the buck
Pirelli P-Zero M&S
Decent:
Yokohama ES100
Yokohama AVS Sport: loud
Dunlop Sport 9000
Falken ST115: best comfort tire, ultra quiet
Goodyear GS-Cs
Pirelli P-Zero Nero
Pirelli P-Zero Asimmetricos
So-So:
Continental ContiSport Contact 2: unpredictable at the limit
Kumho Ecsta 712s: inexpensive
Nitto 555s
Nitto 450s: inexpensive
Pirelli P7000
Bridgestone RE040s
Avoid:
Toyo FZ4: it's an all season tire, good wear.
Have not had enough time to form an opinion but probably at or near the top too:
Goodyear F1s
BF Goodrich KDW2s
Kumho MXs
YMMV. :-)
I want to try the F1s next...
