Re: Repost for the weekday crowd. Vogtland GT perch setting/ ride height poll
My original install posting is <a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2630071.phtml">here</a>.
To summarize, after settling:
At the front, 4" of threads got me 25 1/8" ride height (since adjusted to 25 1/2"; I'll remeasure and get back to you).
At the rear, 1.5" of threads got me 25 5/8" ride height.
This is on a '01.5 sedan.

Not yet. It's unlikely I'll have a chance to do it until later in the week
It's a bit of a PITA with the wheels on the car. I'm putting my 3" Milltek on this week; hopefully Thursday. Perhaps I'll have a chance to do it then.

I'd be curious to hear from other GT owners as well
I'd like to see how far out of whack my numbers are compared to others. I was a bit surprised to end up with what I did, but that was based on only one other install and I never did hear where that one settled out.

When you're assembling the fronts
You'll know right away if the springs are going to bind. They'll fit very tightly onto the raised lip on the lower perch. Basically, an interference fit.
If this is the case, it will be no end of trouble adjusting them once they're on the car. The only advice I have is to somehow reduce the outside diameter a bit on that lip so that the springs turn easily on the lower perches before you put them on the car.
Otherwise, you may have to sacrifice a spring compressor to get one on the spring after install.
Good luck and lets us know how it goes.

Update: got em finished tonight
Front 4.5" thread showing below the perch lock sits at 25.5 - 25.6"
Rear 1-5/8" thread showing below the perch lock sits at 25.5 - 25.6
This is after a little joy ride. We'll see if it settles over the coming weeks.
Regarding the front spring binding to the perch (whirly's comment below). Mine started to do that but I filed the inside lower tip of the spring coil where it was grabbing the perch. Definitely check this out before installing or it will be a Beeyotch to raise.
