Default I heard it ws bad connentions / fittings, of the line not the size or shape

seems that the connectors would break or come loose and spew oil everywhere

Default I'm with you, Frank.

IMHO the oil lines were enlarged to improve direct internal cooling of the shaft and bearings by higher flow rate of cooler oil. The turbo's water jacket only cools the housing.

People are talking as if real cold 15W synthetic oil is like molasses. They should put some in their freezer and see that it remains perfectly pumpable. Anyway, the turbo is where it meats heat first that makes it flow easily even in a cold engine.

Seems only oils with at least a w-40 meet ACEA 3. Both M1 15-50 and Castrol 5w-50 meet A3

Default Whats the argument here? 15w50 isn't what Audi says the car requires...

and pleanty of the turbo failures have been on cars with it.

Playing these "well I know what I'm talking about because I think I'm smarter than Audi and the people who have had their turbos go after dealers put in 15w50 is just going to hurt the newbies on here who might believe this crap.

15W50 should only be considered for competition. Audi's recommendations are for street driving.

Default that's what i've found too, so...

could it be that when they changed weight recommendations they forgot to change the text in the manual to reflect the different ACEA level (what the hell does that mean anyway)? might that also mean the tech's texts (hehehe) are the same fubar'd crap? hmmm, so what's the solution, adhere to the 0-30/5-30 and SJ codes and forget about the ACEA 2 or 3 recommendation?
