REVO software engineers to be at Daytona this weekend
Mitchell Simmons and Nick Kasberger from REVO technik will be at Daytona International Speedway Thursday and Friday in support of our two car Audi S4 team. Our #04 car was the fastest GS car everyday in the three day test held earlier this month. Our #4 car will make its debut, featuring Randy Pobst and Blake Rosser driving.
UnderArmour sportswear sponsorship will be displayed on our car for the first time, courtesy of Anders Hainer, of Sweden, who will be co-driving with me.
We first experimented with REVO software at the January test session. The fastest lap we had run at Daytona in the race two months earlier had been a 2:10.08. We came to test days with the car untouched from the previous race, just to get the new drivers some seat time. Mitch flashed our ECU with their software, which was already setup with a race program. Immediately, when I went full throttle between turns two and three....I had to look at the adjustable boost ****, and then the gauge, to see if someone had turned up the boost. No, they were still locked into their previous setting. That warmup lap was a 2:07.5. We went on to record a fastest time of 2:05.9, which is almost two seconds under the lap record!! The great thing about that...is the driver for the fastest lap, Anders, had never sat in the seat of a Audi race car, and had never been to Daytona....the man was a flash!
Needless to say, we are excited about running two cars, we are excited to have REVO and UnderArmour on board as sponsors, and glad to have the 2003 SpeedVision GT champion,Randy Pobst, on board driving with us. Randy and Blake Rosser finished second in three Rolex GT races last year in Blake's GT3R Porsche.
If anyone is at Daytona International, we race on Friday....rain is forecast....stop by our trailer!
