I believe the consensus is 17x7.5; Also, they may even have the speeds in gears wrong
Something must be wrong here. When I calculate the speeds in gears using the same gear ratios and a tire height of 24.97" (for a 225/45ZR17) I get the following numbers:
1st: 35
2nd: 65
3rd: 100
4th: 127
5th: 152
6th: 180.
These numbers are 6-7% higher than what R&T listed. That percentage error seems way too high for the tires to just be a "little" bit smaller than a computation would show (at the diameter I compute using those gear ratios, the tires on R&T's tested S4 would have to be 225/36ZR17s).

3.5" ground clearnace? THis can't be right either, can it? If...
...That's the case, nobody would even be able to go to the grocery store or anything. In the real world, where there are potholes and speed bumps, this would be a major problem. I'd need to buy a new suspension to lift my car! I suppose the lowest hanging item might be in "protected" area which resides between the left and right side wheels, but even so, it seems awefully low, taking into account all the road debris. Or do we just have giant speed bumps, rusty mufflers, landscaping rocks, and furniture on Seattle roads?

This is the same clearance from an A4 with sport package...
besides, 3.5 in. is not that low...my current jetta GLX is about 2 inches off the ground. I DO NOT scrape the ground ever, and I have terrible roads around here. I'm not saying it's a smooth ride, but I don't scrape the ground.
