Stainless brake lines will help that. I noticed the difference.

I thought looking at the pads is the best sign - should be ~1/4" of "ashed" material at face of pads

Default Actually I did that on my A4 it was the biggest waste of money...

But on the miata it was great, so go figure. Not doing it on the S though.

I definitely noticed a difference (firmer brake pedal).

I think your rotor hats are going to lose that nice shine pretty quick.

Default Bedding should give the rotors a matte grey appearance, almost not metallic at all. Also some ash

or change in appearance in the 1/8 -1/4 inch of pad material on the business end. Blueing is a sign of overheated rotors w/o proper pad material transfer. In bedding , you actually creat a matrix of iron and pad material on the surface of the rotor. If the metallic shine comes back, you know you've worn off the transfered material. (This comes from street driving where you stop a lot but never get the brakes up to a high enough temp.)

Default Yeah, guess so... however, either I have unreasonable...

expectations for brakes or I'm incapable of achieving the expected results. I had the worst brakes ever on the 12v depsite all my better efforts. I am a bit new to the S4 and so I just don't know what is acceptable for this car and what isin't, dig?
