Default Rounded Hex Screw

The other day I wanted to lower my KW coilovers and the first step is to loosen the hex screw which holds the perch in place. I ended up rounding off 2 of the hex screws and couldnt loosen the screw in order to lower the perch. Does anyone know what I can do to loosen the hex screw?

TIA

Default Does any part of the screw still stick out of the housing?...

if so, use a dremel with a cutting wheel and cut a groove in the head so that you can use a flatheaded screwdriver to loosen and remove the hex bolt. Replace with a new one after. If not an EZ-Out might work.

Default This has worked for me in the past...

Find a flat blade screwdriver that fits into the hex slot a little tight. Tap the blade into the head of the hex so it's snug and twist. Should work.

The problem with vise grip is that the hex screw is seated inside the perch, so there is no room really to grab the outer part of the screw. This is what the vice grip does right, it grabs and squeezes correct?

Also, what is a Darintake?

cheers.

Default Correct on the vise grip,

Darintake is a hole cut into air box for more air induction. more air+ more fuel = more power. run a search for it on AW

Unfortunately the screw is embedded deep inside the locking perch. What is EZ-Out? Do you know where I can get it?

thanks.

is this link EZ-OUt?<ul><li><a href="http://www.sears.com/sr/craftsman/whatsnew/cr_ct_cooltooldetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&amp;ve rtical=TOOL&amp;Tool_Id=44">http://www.sears.com/sr/craftsman/whatsnew/cr_ct_cooltooldetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&amp;ve rtical=TOOL&amp;Too

Default IIRC sears should have a kit for that exact application

it looks like a drill bit that bites in to the inside edges of the hex .. see if you can find that .

That looks like it. Usually any good hardware store or tool store will have them.

Default Use an ez-out as the final alternative....

u will prob have to drill into the screw if you use a ez=out...small screws can be a pain in the a$$.
