Default Because in the minds of a lot of consumers BMW leads the luxury/sport market in every class.

Whether you agree or not, most of the automotive press feels that way.

Default Typo? I thought it was now down to 3600 or so.

Even the disappointing U.S. seats don't account for a 200 lb. weight difference.

Default this car needs to be 70k or less to work IMO...

ok, let's look at 80k:

RS4 (78k) - 9.21 lbs/hp or 12.15 lbs/tq
3850 lbs
418 hp
317 tq

Carrera S (79k) - 8.82 lbs/hp or 10.61 lbs/tq
3131 lbs
355 hp
295 tq

M3 (55k) - 10.26 lbs/hp or 13.04 lbs/tq
3415 lbs
333 hp
262 tq

new M5 (?k) - 7.7 lbs/hp or 10.05 lbs./tq
~3850 lbs
500 hp
383 tq

Ferrari F355 - 7.83 lbs/hp or 11.10 lbs/tq
2976 lbs
380 hp
268 tq

Ferrari F360 - 7.66 lbs/hp or 11.10 lbs/tq
3064 lbs
400 hp
276 tq

I relealize that many cars on the list are not 80k, but just running numbers, i think it needs more motor, or less weight, or less price to really work.

Default always follow, BMW bad body style change, then Audi bad body style change

Acura TL might stand out as one of the better looking new cars : )

Weight, price, unimpressive torque. No thanks. I'll stick with the B5 S4 and continue to mod.
