RS4 Clutch problems . I've had my garage install 2 RS4 clutches and problems with both.
First let me say in regards to RS4 clutches off Ebay ( at least the provider on AW) and the clutches being provided by most if not all Tuners on East Coast are Luk and come from the same importer . I've had 2 now , one from Ebay another from an E.C. tuner.
Same problems from both . Neither of the 2 clutches that have been installed will hold under boost on my stage 3 AWE car. Everything seems good at first - you can chirp the tires taking off , car shifts proper but the moment you kick into the boost the clutch slips pegging the tach. Yes the SAC was adjusted properly . The clutch it seems just will not hold the power.
Another thing we noticed is that the throwout bearings provided with these clutches is different from OEM in that it is 1/6 inch or so shorter than an OEM. The first install was done using this bearing and the car would not go into reverse and the clutch slipped , the clutch was pulled and a true OEM bearing installed . Car now went into reverse but slipped . So I get second clutch from tuner which came from same importer( thinking maybe I just had a bad one )and had same throwout. Installed with OEM T O and encountered same problems.
Why would the T O with these clutches have different dimensions than actual OEM if Luk is the provider to Audi?
3 tranny pulls later and a couple months of the car sitting and I'm still screwed .
My first RS4 clutch was marked as an Audi part - the current ones being sold are not . My original RS4 clutch gave me 40k - 50k service and never slipped.
Any other experience with these clutches and - or what is my shop missing ?

It's coming , still sitting at shop which is an hour away
from me and I have not been back to pick it up thinking I'm going to be picking up car at same time. As soon as I deliver the next clutch to them I will pickup yours which is now out of car and ship.
It's an AWE lightweight flywheel , shop says it's not glazed . Original RS4 clutch didn't start slipping but broke a finger,

I had some wacky-ness with an RS4 clutch recently, between the mis-installer and the clutch
it never worked right. After 5k miles with it in I gave up and went to a clutchmaster stage 3, eliminating the SAC issue. It will launch and hold under power so far.

I just had a Southbend OFE series clutch put in my ASP stage 3 S4. No more slippage!
My RS4 clutch was done after 15K stage 3 miles, and I shift easy. It would slip mostly in gears 5-6 under full boost, which sucked for me as I do alot of highway driving.

Yeah I'm definitely doing something besides RS4 next . Clutchmaster or AWE , looking for advice here
Still like to know what's up with current RS4 clutches being sold aftermarket though . Seems they are not what they where and it's going to cost me an arm and a leg if that's the case as opposed to my shop screwing the pooch which I don't think is.
