Default RS4 Clutches ,part #s plus question and answer time , problems maybe solved.

Alright here's the background . I replaced A RS4( Audi stamped part) clutch after 35k miles , great service . I've gone thru 2 Luk RS4 (non Audi stamped )clutch installs lately with bad results.
These RS4 clutches come from various tuners but seem to originate with one importer . I received 2 LUK clutches from 2 different sources and a friend now received a third from a third source . All these clutches have a part # 124 0300 10 . All the clutches have the wrong thro out bearing included which was the first sign something is wrong. All 3 clutches were installed by former Audi techs now working for respected shops - these are not the first clutch installs for these guys , my 2 by one tech the third by another tech at a different shop. The clutches will not hold and I mean they slip to the point of you can't drive the car to attempt a break in . The 3rd clutch is on a chipped K03 car the first 2 went into my K04 car .
After more research and calling around Vast performance says the part # 124 0300 10 is the wrong part # , wrong pressure plate. 124 0225 10 being the correct # correct pressure plate. Can anyone here verify this ? Has anyone else had experience with the LUK pressure plates # 124 0300 10 .

Default I received what I *think* was the wrong throwout bearing (did not include nylon spacer/cap)

I had to go through 3 clutch installs before it was remedied. Bum pp or tob was the culprit, I think. Weird thing was that my mechanic claimed that the replacement RS4 PP had the same number as the orignial S4 PP.

Default Yeah your bearing sounds identical to the bearings we've received

I'm on hold waiting for a LUK tech support person now , see if they can help identifying #s .

All the techs that have been involved with the 3 clutches we are dealing with say the pressure plates are the problem.

Default I would like to know if that nylong spacer is an issue or not. My mechanic claimed that

piggie told him it shouldn't matter...but i'm not a fan of 2nd (3rd?) hand knowledge

Default My car wouldn't shift into reverse with the provided T O bearing.

Once the bearing was replaced with an Audi part the car shifted fine .

Default Keep us posted. I have the 0300 PP and the bearing w/o the plastic waiting to install.

Sure don't want to put them in if they are wrong.

Default Good luck with that , I'd be amazed to see one of these clutches be proper. Let us know if you

Install it . All any tuners want to say is that it's been installed wrong.I've been talking to Luk US tech support but these numbers mean nothing to them , not in their system here.

I had a Audi RS4 clutch for 35K and these are not the same.

Default I spoke with a guy at LuK today. Like you say, it's not a US number, but

he found some notes that suggest that the 0300 has LESS clamping force than the 0225. He is going to check overseas and get back to me.
