Default RS4 engine
Anyone know if the RS4 engine is illegal to import to the USA... if herd rumors that oyu can impotatn the engine without the turbo's then just get a stage 3 kit.. anyone know if this is true cuz if it is im getting a avant 2.8 and swaping.

Why get an RS4 engine, you can get plenty of power from the S4 engine...

Used ones are in the 6-13k range...

Out of curiosity, are the RS4 internals different? Or just the head/cams?

Default It has been long debated if they did anything different to the shortblock
And from what i have collected there is no proof that the crank, rods, pistons, and block are of any difference. Supposedly the crank and rods are of stonger construction and the oil ports were enlarged, but nobody has proved/disproved any of it.

Default Yea, there was a full setup(ECU to oil pan, with wiring & turbos) about 1.5 years ago....
sold for $9,500 IIRC.

even if they are, itd be so much cheaper to source an S4 motor and build it with top end internals
