Hi! I'm from germany and I found your page just a few seconds ago. As a real AUDI-Freak (I'm living nearby Ingolstadt where Audi comes from) I'm really impressed of the intrest in the S4. We don't have such a forum.
But, what I want to say. Try to get the RS4. I took part in a kínd of "pre-release" at the Audi-center and I can tell you one thing. I is a hell of a car. Never driven something like that before. I had a Maserati 3200 before. It's a kind of sitting duck compared with the RS4. 100.000$ and u can "kill" everything on our autobahn...

Audi NA Marketing determines the cars to bring here. To certify a car to meet emmision and safety in the US is expensive and the changes to the RS4 requre complete recertification. The market for this is limited. In addition to the certification costs the amount of money Audi has to spend to stock up the parts department is termendous. We have lots of S4 owner who need rotors for their cars and none available. IF someone spent $$$$$$$ on a RS4 and then had to have it sit in the shop for weeks waiting on a part you would loose many customers.

To bring a new car over is not an easy task.

Last week I red something like 2001 and Euro III Norm.... means 2001 there should be the possibility to get the RS$ in the US, because Euro III and the US certificate are the same as far as I know...

You obviously have an inside track on the development of the RS4. Do you have any idea when production is going to start. I am No. 15 on the UK list and am being told mine should come through mid September.

By the way , I am totally amazed Audi let people drive the prototypes !!
