Default RS4 shift ****???

I just got my Rs4 shift **** and it dosent seem to be fitting on to the stem of my old shift ****??? Is there something i have to do?? It seems so simple.

The old one should unscrew and the new one should screw on. If not, it's the wrong ****.

did you get the B7 RS4 shift **** instead of B5?

Default do you have a short shifter?

If so, you may need to remove the shifter boot and trim the plastic tube at the top/center of the boot. Take off about half an inch, and you should be good to go.

Default or the wrong shifter!

I've never seen an RS4 shift **** without the threads. It's likely he has some aftermarket shifter.
