who's saving up for this? (www.cars.com)
Performance is invariably a company hallmark, and that philosophy has been demonstrated by the company's current and past "S" series models. With that in mind, Audi is preparing to produce a new high-performance RS6, first seen in March at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland. The RS6 "represents Audi at its best," Hunt said. The car will carry a 4.2-liter bi-turbo V-8 engine that generates 450 horsepower. In addition to 18-inch wheels, the RS6 will have quattro all-wheel drive and a Tiptronic transmission.
Hunt said Dynamic Ride Control in the RS6 keeps the underpinnings under the car, where they should be. "This is a sedan with the soul of a thoroughbred sports car," he said, using an expression employed by several manufacturers. Audi expects to sell about 850 units of the limited-edition models, beginning sometime in 2003.

suddenly it's all about 4000lbs and big HP numbers...not exactly a trend that gives us "performance".
Case in point, Ferrari 550 Maranello spider has the same 0-60 and 1/4 mile as an 02 Carerra 2 which has over 160 fewer HP but weighs hundreds of pounds less.

195hp and 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and 12.6 in the 1/4.
Oblitterated the 3700lb Mustang Cobra R.
Going to SERIOUSLY consider the Ellise when it comes...with the 996 being a touch over 3000lbs, I'm feeling that THAT is a bit porkey...rediscovered the joys of light cars and now I'm a heavy car hater...though I might bend the rules for an S4 weight 996TT.

add some weight for a jackson racing sc and it would take quite a beast to match it anywhere.
The extra power would probably upset the balance of the car though.
damn mod bug
