friend of mine just picked up a MINT 93 RX-7, just a bit over 20k miles

Mine, as did many, had a problem with spontaneous combustion, and could have burned down my parents' home were it not for the smarts of our Doberman, who alerted us, in the middle of the night, to the problem. Mazda knew something was wrong, because even though I had purchased the car used and modified it significantly, they compensated me as if I had paid sticker for the car, brand new, and arranged to have it flatbedded away at their expense.

Tell your friend to make sure his FD has received all the facotry TSB and Recall work, post haste.

it's slower than slow even if you turbocharge it
