Default just to warn you...

I'm sure that ANY dealer would be happy to void your powertrain warranty if they see blow off valves.

It sounds like any mods voids the warrenty. I'm told that if you find a dealer that is OK with Mods should not give you any headache over these types of Mods. I also heard that things such as bigger turbos, intercoolers are an absolute NO NO. Do you have any Mods on your S4? If so, any problems with dealers?

Have you heard anything about Baily's DV? Is that the same thing?

So I take it that they are different. Should I have both mods? Do you have upgraded DV?

I did some research on BOV's on S4. It sounds like it can create some headache. I take it that you have done your own research on BOV's on a S4. All I hear is about the fact that you will be running lean (Fuel/air mixture). Are you not worried or is there a trick to it?

Default There is a way... and I'm going to do the testing to see if

the ones I have will work. I have done a lot of reasearch on the matter. There are 2 Japanese type BOV's that will work on our cars.
One is an APEX BOV... model escapes me now and the HKS SS BOV that we see on the www.ecstuning.com site.

The difference between these 2 and the rest of the import BOV's is the fact that this valve is a dual release valve that enables the valve be be a pull type relief valve. This seems to be the only system that works on our cars. if you mount these BOV's on our cars, they don't throw codes through the maf. I am curious as to whether they are making the car run lean or not. Usually, when the car senses trouble, lean or rich, a DTC will be shown and a check engine light will come on. So far, the HKS BOV is the only one that has accomplished this. I am assuming that the APEX BOV will also be successful. I know of a person in the A4 forum who has a Forge type BOV on his car and he claims that he doesn't throw any codes and that his Air Fuel meter indicates that the car is running fine and not lean.

The unit I will be testing is a pull type relief valve and is very similar to the Forge and Bailey valves but configured as a BOV. The difference between my system I'm getting and other bov's is that it is a hybrid model that will recirculate some air as well as blow off excess air. It's a very interesting concept that I will be exploring and it's the only one of it's kind.

The units are about the same price as the forge and baileys... maybe just a litte more and will handle the amount of boost that chipped S4's dish out which is very good. It's also an adjustable valve so you can tune it to the amount of boost you have in your car.

It seems to work on paper... but will have to see what happens from there.

I'll keep you posted

Thanks. I am very interested as to what happens. Please keep me updated with any info. I want to place an order on either BPV's or BOV's (hopefully BOV's) as soon as possible. Please email me as soon as you have a result. arbim@aol.com

Thanks again,

Arbi M.
