Default S4 allocation in N. California / Bay Area

situation : Placed deposit at dealer 6 weeks ago. was told "if you don't get in this month's allocation you'll definitely be in the next"..I missed out on the 1st one.

But this week I'm told I missed out yet again and my car won't be ordered until early December at the earliest...so...

am I being messed around here because I don't want many options (convenience only)? Is my dealer strangely under-allocated? Should I shop around more? If so then where?

Help me - don't want to wait until March - will not pay more than MSRP.

Thanks for reading

Default Shop around. Dealer either janking your chain, or under-allocated.

Expect to put a larger deposit down on a low-optioned car, though, harder to sell if you back out.

Default From what I just heard from my dealer

The next S4s he orders will not be delivered until March or April. The average dealer (not the big ones) get about 2-3 S4s allocated to them each month. Sometimes AoA surprises them and gives them an extra one for that month. I got my order in on about Sept 1...and I will be taking delivery the last week of December or one of the first two weeks in January. Under allocated? Depends on your definition of the phrase. These things are not abundant by any stretch of the imagination.

Don't forget to talk to Ernst Gosch at Diablo Audi in Concord before you order with anyone else. He is THE best, IMHO. 925-682-3150 x138. My A4 was from him...and my S4 is too.

I don't know about your situation, but I ordered a Silver/Silver from Ernst at Diablo the first week of Oct expecting to pay for it in late Feb (when I would have the money). But Ernst called me back 2 weeks later and said an identical car was on the boat and available now.

so this past weekend I put it on my credit card and picked it up. I love it. and I'll refi later.

But the moral of the story is that Ernst is a great guy and he'll take care of you.

What color are you looking for? Get all the options but phone and nav better chance on picking up one that is on an allocation list without a deposit. Once they hit the lot expect to pay premium.
