Default I think your mistaken when you say the M3 engine is more robust under boost...

the more accurate thing to say is the existing KO3 packaging on the S4 is prone to turbo heat-induced failure. There is no way a NA engine like the M3's will take boost as well as a FI engine like the 2.7T, nor as long. I would not want a E36 M3 running 10psi on a blower...nor would it be around after 100,000k.

The only NA engine that loves boost that i can recall is the VW 2.0L engine...

Cheers,
Sameer

Default ahem......Quattro is designed for doing power slides around 90 degree turns in the rain......

....I saw a E46 M3 try to do this and he ended up going ditch racing. The S gives you confidence in all conditions.... IMO RWD is obsolete except for the track amd dry spirited driving. As it has been said before after you drive quattro you wonder why all cars don't have it. In a perfect world I would have the S for all weather, a Z06 for track and dry street...oh and a 575M...hey I said it was a dream........ :- )

Default Then why did you ever buy an S4...

...your M3 has more leg room, handles power mods better, just as good as Quattro when you put on winter tires. What gives?

I've had many 4wd vehicles in my life, and I can say that the S4 is the best performing car I've ever had in the snow period.

I've also had APR Stage 2+ for over 50K miles and 2 years without any problems. With the Kit my cars pushing 340 hp and I've beaten so many E36 M3's that it's not even a comparison.

Some very poor suggestions you gave.
