Default S4 MAF vs. A4 1.8T MAF

Any chance that these are the same part?

I got an S4 buddy I want to try to help out, but I'm not sure if the MAFs are the same part or not and I'm too lazy to pull it out if it's not!

Thanks!

S.

Default I doubt they are the same. Also, there are 2 different MAFs for the S4...

One is a Bosch part, and is on the MY2000 and some (early) MY2001 cars...

the Bosch-version part number is

078 906 461 B

And the innards look like this:

Default Cool, there's different MAFs for the A4 as well

But looking at your pictures, your inards are definitely different than my MAF, so I doubt they're interchangeable.

Thanks Taner!

I don't think the plugs match up, and also, they are calibrated for more air flow (I think)

Default The last # is the Audi part number... odd that they changed the "group" code...

Dealer will charge you ~$380... you might be able to get it as low as $300 some places...
