And I laid plenty of wood to 5 liter mustangs with far more work done than what you say this guy has...
Assuming he's got the best of the best done to that car, it might make about 325-350 at the flywheel so not quite 300 to the wheels. The big question mark is what gearing does he have? If it's a stock gear ratio he may be able to pull 120 in fourth gear which would take away some of your safety net. The fifth gear in the T5's are a black hole and those cars have a lot of trouble making MPH with that much overdrive. So I'd recommend changing things up a little bit and seeing if he wants to run to 130. Fox body mustangs are also aerodynamic bricks and their little 5 liter doesn't have the torque to push that brick through the air. You'll definitely surprise him if you short shift a little bit (6400-6600) and let the S4 work in its torque band to push through the air at that speed. Either way, try to get another 10mph added on to the race![Wink](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Happy hunting!

Like every bolton -heads. Drag suspension and 285 BFG street slicks. (He can pull the front wheels up on M/T slicks) With all of that and being a good driver, his best quarter was 13 flat. All of that was in the first 1/8 though. Heads, particularly if they are AFRs will make a difference. I wouldn't count the S4 out. I raced him from a stop till 70 and we were even. He was talking all this $#!t about my "expesive car" not beating him... untill I told him I wasn't seeing more that 7psi the whole run (my bad EGT sensor put me into safe mode) If he really wants to go to 120, fine. I think thats better for you than just 80. We both have 2+ S4s and its been my experience that once in 4th, the 2.7T really bears down. Ive walked a number of cars that could keep up through 3rd once in fourth. My money is on the s4 with a 1/4 tank race gas and no spare as long as its to 120. Plus, our cars are more aerodynamic anyways. Shoot video! Drive safe and have fun.
Oh, and if you plan on using the APR race gas file, try to get 104 octane or higher + give it some drive time to adjust. On the dyno I made 7 less hp with the race gas file on 100 than the 93 file with 100. Something to think about. Good luck.

Assuming they hook. Guys that take the time to meticulously setup the car (read: set pinion, thrust angles) shouldn't even have to steer for the first 60 feet. Although on M&H DR's, my mustang will move over about half a car if the road has a serious crown to it. An 11 second pass feels like a 9 second pass :P

this car was on 100 9/10 times it hits the street. so i can tell there is a big difference when i go back to 93.
lately i have been on stock boost, ala turbo lady rounding the corner

I'm just relaying an experience I had where the 93 file made more power than the 100 file both running 100 oct. It was wierd. A guy at the dyno day said before I ran the 100 mode that he'd bet that it looses power compaired to the 93. Sure enough 277whp vs 288. I asked him why, he said thats what his car did and he thinks that APR tunes for 104 octane and the 100 just wasn't enough. Thats all. I'd just run whatever you are used to since you know your car better. It would be interesting though for you to dyno it and test out this theory as well.
Well, I hope you will remember to post the results since just about everyone who ever brings up a hypothetical race like this never seems to fill the board in on how our predictions went. Good luck.
