Right now I'm entertaining the thought of buying an '00 S4 with a salvage title. It has 17,500 miles on it and runs fine.

I don't know much about the history of this car, but that is definitely something I'm going to find out about. My question is, what should I be looking for.

From my brief conversation with the owner, it sounds as if the car was impacted on the driver's side. He states that the only thing left that needs to be done to it is to fix the side air curtain.

The price right now is $21K. He'll be sending me pics and the VIN shortly.

What's everyone's thoughts? I'll post more as soon as I find out more.

i think most people here would say don't do it. if you pay $21k for a car that ends up needing $5+k in work because you got screwed, you could have gotten something with a clean title most likely.

I'd say half that price would be about right... $21K for a salvaged title S4 is insane.
