I have sold a few Porsches and motorcycles on eBaymotors. It is great nad pretty easy to do. I have sold 3 Porsches, some motorcycles and most recently my truck. Not to mention a lot of various items.
THe best way I have found is to get a nice disply of the information on the auction and then make sure you have plenty of images that are immediately available to the bidder. Dont make them click on something and go to another site to see the car.

I've had good luck selling some random items and car parts, but never sold a car. It seemed like a lot of trouble to me, so that's why I'm asking. It can't be THAT bad if so many people do it. I, for one, probably would never buy a car off of eBay, so I'd almost not even think of selling my car on there. Just some of my weird thoughts....
