Nothing beats top down on a nice day, with a nice sounding exhaust. =)

Default As someone who went from an S4 to a 911, I would tell you a few things...

First, do NOT buy the P-car brand new. They have taken such a huge hit on resale, that you can find a '07-08 model with around 5k miles for about 20k less than what you'd pay for a new one.

Second, do a thorough comparison between the 911 and the M3. I was comparing those same cars in '03 and ended up with a 996, but the power/comfort/practicality of the S4 made me come back again '06. But everyone has different taste/criteria.

I realize you've got your heart set on a cab, so but being that you live in Chicago, the RS4 may make the most sense in terms of a year-round car (unless you have a DD).

Either way, good luck...

Default What's with you guys on the mainland and your obsession for verts or cabs.

I swear, every tourist that comes down here thinks driving around in a vert is the greatest thing ever. That is, until they've actually been driving for 10 minutes and realize the wind blowing the smell of exhaust fumes from cars in front of you combined with the nice sunburn you'll get from 10 minutes of driving is not so great. The only time you see a vert in Hawaii in when a tourist is driving it.

Default thanks man-- great info

I appreciate your comments.. I was kinda thinking the same thing as the RS4 is more of a better "all around" in Chi- and you can go top down in the summer.
I definitely was thinking a "used 2008" porsche although the '09's have been heavily upgraded which makes it a tough sell.
As to the M3- i believe it is much slower than both the RS4 and 911- but has the ht cab.
So your input would be the RS4 cab, eh?
