Ernst Gosch @ Diablo Audi in Concord is THE best (IMHO)
925-682-3150
I have bought two Audis from him...and several Audi owners on this forum, the A6/TT/A4 forum have as well.
Try it..youll like it.<p><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/steveshsig1.gif" border="0">

Re: SF bay area dealer?
i'd go to whichever one can get you the car and is convienent for getting service done on your car. the service departments seemed swamped and if you didn't buy your car from them, you're probably not gonna get serviced there.
i had to choose between one near where i live (Sonnen) and one near where i work (Steven's Creek Audi). i went with Sonnen cuz they had a car coming in 1.5 months and they were *only* charging 1k over MSRP. Steven's Creek said 4-6month wait and 5k over MSRP!!! ouch!
no complaints about Sonnen (got it through Jason Mecchi). we'll see what happens when i need to bring it in for it's first service....

I've always had great service at Rector ( never more than 1 week wait for an appointment ).
But as a buyer, I'd echo Steve's advice on Diablo and avoid R**t*r ,R*y*l and St*v*ns C***K while ever they persist in demanding a premium. Vote with yer feet man!

I've had awesome service from Carlsen since day 1
My salesperson, Christopher Bearman, is awesome -- took the time to sit down with me and go over all the cars they had avaliable (taht were coming in on the baot, unclaimed)... I must have asked him the same questions about 10 times and he answered them each time, too
Their service dept is good, but they seem to be really busy (took about a month to get my car in to be serviced for the 8k service)... but when I had a busted foglight (on day 2), they changed it that day, in about 10min.
Other people may have other stories - I've heard complaints - but from me you'll get nothing but praise for them!

Ernst definitely deserves all the business he can handle.
I'm on the waitlist for an S4 Avant with him, and he has been the only dealer I've ever worked with who actually sends out interesting stuff and actually calls you to keep you updated. When the 2001 brochure came out, he mailed me one. When he heard new information about the arrival date of the car, he called and left a message about it. Sure, its little things, but I've never had any other car dealer attempt to do any of the little things. If you are anywhere near Concord, go with Ernst.

Steve is just an acolyte at the First Church of Ernst, Audi Specialist ;-) (more)
In all seriousness, if your in the East Bay,Ernst is apparently the way to go. If you are on the Peninsula, you may want to try Dave Leibenson at Rector in Burlingame. Carlsen in Palo Alto gets mixed reviews.
