Default ****...coolant leak. Need some suggestions on what to check.

My car was parked all day today and when I started it tonight the coolant warning went on. I pop the hood and the coolant reservoir was bone dry. Look under the car, a nice puddle of coolant. This sucks, but at the same time, I'm glad that it's on the ground and not mixing with my oil. It's slowly dripping from somewhere above the belly pan, but I'm not sure where since I haven't had it off yet (it was dark when we discovered this). Anyway, I filled up the reservoir and let it sit for a bit. It dropped about 1/4" in two hours or so. At least it's a slow leak. Does anyone have any suggestions on hoses I might want to check before I take it into the dealer? This kind of pisses me off because I really try to keep my hose in check.

My coolant leak was the result of the secondary (auxilary)waterpump letting go.

Default Remove plastic covers...Look under y-pipe and check for residue...

Happened to me last fall and lost all coolant. Replaced in a day by Audi service.

Default An o-ring of the piping was the point in my case, but...

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/30545/cl-021202.jpg"></center><p>the leakage was gradual as shown above,
and fixed by a dealer mechanic within warranty period.

Default I've got the same problem...

but I don't know how to fix or what exactly is wrong. I had the exact same scenario yesterday where I got in my car and the sensor came on twice. Checked the coolant and "bone-dry" just as you say. But I do know the coolant for our car...
