A big dilemma, thinking of selling the S4 but, I have couple of issues. First, I think I might really regret it after I sell it. Second, I've "tested" the seller's market for the S4 and came away very disappointed.
I have 3 more years to pay on the car (~$25,000) and I can't get anything nice as a S4 for that kind of money. So, selling it for financial reasons is not an issue. Also, I had big plans for the S4 like bigger turbos and etc. From what I can tell the aftermarket for the current S4 is showing great promise and the future for the car looks exciting.
But, on the other hand, there are so many other cars out there.
So, shall I keep the S4 and tune the hell out of it? Or, shall I sell it and get another car like the new S4, 350Z, or something else?
Please respond with some suggestions.

so that money is simply spent for your enjoyment and is written off (in fact it can make a used car MUCH harder to sell), but IMHO if you have to dump thousands of dollars into a car to make it the way you REALLY wanted it, you probably bought the wrong car to start with.

i have had my S4 for over almost a year now, and am tempted to sell....43k miles on it, but have had zero repair bills yet....i originally bought it so i could fit 4 adults, but that idea quickly went away when i realized that the back seats do not hold 200lbs+ people unless they lie down on top of one another.....What does anybody else think about the Z06 corvette?....too common?....i like the idea of being fast and looking fast too i guess, and the 2 or 4 seats mean nothing at this point.....

and the universe of potential customers of modded cars is VERY limited.
If you hang on to cars forever and modding is your hobby that's one thing but if you like driving different cars and turn them over with any frequency (like hostbar sort of sounds like he's doing) than modding is an utter waste of money.

...when I turn in my Avant at the end of the lease, I'll be selling all my mods. I don't expect to get full price for them, but something in the neighborhood of 40%-60% of the initial cost of the mod.

Its obvious that most on the forum are car enthusiasts like yourself. Those people are very emotional about their car and being an S4 forum I doubt they care little about getting the best gas mileage or what mods don't depreciate it.
