Default Sharp parking lot turns produce a "rough" feel in tires, steering wheel. (more)

It can be felt easily as a roughness throughout the cabin. Is it the tires scrubbing on the tarmac because the quattro is not allowing tires each to turn freely? It reminds me of what I had happen to my old 90Q when the diffs were manually locked then did a sharp turn.

Any similar experiences? Appreciate any responses.

I have had this in the cold. Thought it was the EDL; but when its warm out?

Default Not quattro. Maybe EDL, or just wide tire scrub!

These tires are so wide that the inner one on a short radius turn has a fairly different rotation rate at the inner vs. the outer edge of the tire.

Default I've noticed this too.

I think Jim's comment on tire size is on the mark. The turning radius is so small on this car that tire size starts to matter.

I doubt EDL has something to do with it, I can't feel the brake pedal pulse at all.

Regards,

Sander

Default I have it too...more..

I have noticed exactly the same thing. Feels like the differential is locked and the tires scrubbing. Notice at slow speeds and sharp turn radius...like in parking lots. My wife's A4 1.8tq with the sport suspension/tires not seem to do the same thing. I was planning on asking the service dept about this next trip in.
---by the way...just returned from a 2400 mile road trip. No probelms. Mileage on the trip computer anywhere from 27.x to 30.x mpg depending on speed. When I started car had about 1400 miles on it and mpg was showing around 23.x on the highway...then it magically started getting 27+.

Why would it be EDL?

Could be confused by large difference between inner and outer wheel revs.
