Default I had a similair situation happen aswell...

Lets just call the shop "Next level tuning of Greensburg,pa.". I had the car in there for normal work. The installed a used part(transmission), and said it needed testing. They called and said it would not shift into reverse and needed to get another one. Keep in mind, this is after a another horror trans situation before hand, there are so many bad(1/2 shift collar) 01E trans lying around. They installed a new one, and said they wanted to drive it some to make there were no problems. This was over the course of 7 weeks, and i had forgotten the exact mileage, but know it was atleast a few hundred to maybe over a thousand. I was so uspset i could have killed them, but just wanted the car back. Now, it trust very few shops.

Default My BMW dealership always drove my M Coupe...even if I ask "no test drive"

Last time (I mean as in "last time I EVER go back there!). I asked them to not drive the car as they were only replacing an antenna under warrenty. They drove the car 4 or 5 miles.

Maybe not a Joy Ride, but I guess they are looking for any fault to get more work.

But I worry about the Coupe...those engines run 10-60 oil and if spanked cold the bottom end can fail. Since they only made 360 or so 2002 M Coupes for the USA market....I don't want them to screw mine up.

Default Man, Mike can custom tune any B5!

But yes, they have custom tuned many Stage 2/2+'s.

(I believe) Kurt came over from Ford and started helping Mike write code way back in the day. Mike eventually started helping Jason from JHM a year or two back, ect.

I thought I remember reading like 2+ years ago on the forums that the base file is similar to GIAC and then is tweaked from their depending on the different mods, driveability, ect.

But don't quote me on any of this stuff (other than that Mike can tune), don't want to be spreading false rumors/information

Default Ugh. As a professional tech, let me tell you I will *never* put more than ten miles on the car

without me, personally, clearing it with the owner. Not the adviser, ME. Now that I am out on my own, it isn't an issue. Most techs are ****ing spoiled brats.
